Upcoming EDM Events in Las Vegas

Viva Las Vegas – the home of the largest celebration of electronic dance music! Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) has attracted more than 300,000 partygoers at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and, on June 19-21, 2015, for the fifth year, the party starts. Everything you want in an outdoor celebration is here – carnival rides, circus-style performers, arts, food, and best of all, the top EDM DJs.

EDC is brought to the world by Insomniac Events. The event features an endless neon sea of glow sticks, painted faces, fireworks, carnival rides, dancing, grinding, and electronic dance music. You will see the best of scantily clad dancers and party-goers, and for three days you will have the time of your life.

This mega international electronic dance music festival is held annually during the summer from June until August in the United States and Puerto Rico. It was founded by Insomniac Events in 1997, and was originally a one-day electronic dance music festival. The original EDC was held in Los Angeles, but has since relocated to California, Colorado, Nevada, Florida and New Jersey, New York, and Texas. Now it makes its home in flashy, crazy Las Vegas.

Every year that the event has been held in Las Vegas, at least 250,000+ revelers have shown up. In 2014, over 400,000 tickets were sold, and there were over 1,000 acts doing their thing. With crazy dance music lovers in a crowd of this size, things can get wild. Just mind your Ps and Qs, and everything will be awesome.

All about EDC 2015

It is recommended that if you love electronic dance music (EDM), come to Las Vegas before the 19th of June. Before the festival starts, you can catch EDC artists performing on the Las Vegas Strip in a variety of nightclubs and other venues. Enjoy your favorite DJs in a closer and more personal setting, and then go see them in the height of their glory at the EDC.

EDC boasts an attendance of close to 350,000+. There are traffic jams galore, with thousands of people trying to park, so just be patient. Traffic attendants will try to get you parked without incident, but it is still a bit problematic. Do expect to wait in a long line of cars on your way to the Las Vegas Speedway. One great idea is to grab a group of friends and carpool; you will save gas, increase the amount of available car spaces, have a great crowd to bond with, and get to the EDC venue full of enthusiasm.

You can also purchase a three-day shuttle pass that drops you off right at the entrance. For $80 your pass provides you with transportation from your hotel to EDC and back each night. You can also book a VIP experience and travel to the Speedway by using Maverick Helicopters. At $500 a ride, you will avoid the traffic, get a great view of the entire EDC venue, and arrive cool and relaxed.

The dress code is ultra-casual. In fact, the less, the better. (Just don’t go totally naked!) It is very hot in Las Vegas during June, and you don’t want to stick to the guy next to you. Just imagine the steam coming off 350,000 bodies! It’s fantastic! Accessorize however you want. Dress up with lots of beads and costume pieces. Neon glow necklaces and flower leis are the accessories of the day, but buy them before you get to the Speedway; they cost an arm and a leg on the tarmac at the show.

Most vendors only accept cash, so keep a bit hidden in your pocket. There are ATMs located on the site, but the lines will be huge. Just like every awesome production filled with tons of people, the more prepared you are for the weather and the spending, the better off you will be.

Water bottles are okay to bring inside the Speedway. In fact, between drinking beers and mixed drinks, and wandering around (not to mention all the dancing you will be doing), drinking lots of water is a must.

The music is electromagnetically magical, and EDC is one of the most popular North American electronic dance music festivals. Vote for your favorite DJs to headline at EDC. Popular acts include: Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Claude VonStroke, Benny Benassi, will.i.am, Nero, Steve Angello, Steve Aoki, Skrillex, Bassnectar, Dada life, Zeds Dead, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Nicky Romero, Afrojack, and Kaskade, plus many more. Visit Tiësto at his Las Vegas residency: Hakkasan Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Hotel, and also pray he will be at the show; he is a spectacular performer.

Don’t Miss the Show

EDC is one of the most captivating entertainment experiences you will ever have. In no other place can you listen, dance, and watch the most renowned electronic dance music DJs and talent. Their acts are interspersed with magical and fantastic light shows and fireworks, and you will be able to interact with carnival performers, go on mind-blowing rides, and find just about any attraction you want.

The show’s format is unique; there are visual wonders, talented performers, and multiple stages full of electronic dance music. You can find whatever type of dance music you like – listen to house music on one stage, turn around and hear techno or drum and bass, and move forward so you can listen and dance to trance and dubstep.

This year’s attendance is expected to exceed the attendance of years past. With this in mind, it is recommended that you get your tickets early. In fact, purchasing tickets today would not be such a bad idea; however, be aware that there is a six ticket limit. Don’t try to exceed the limit; you will be caught, and your tickets will be invalidated. EDC general admission 3-day tickets are going for $388. You can purchase a three-day level one ticket for $750, but so far there is no set amount listed for the three-day level two ticket. (They will be pricey but worth it.) General admission tickets are going quickly; don’t let someone else take your place!
