Not so long ago Adam Wiles aka Calvin Harris was a simple guy living with his parents and working at a Scottish grocery chain. He did not have a college degree, and his musician prospects were somewhat dim. Now he is a Scottish record producer, songwriter and DJ. He owns a label called Fly Eye Records and his new album, Motion, is streaming to #1 all over the world. This album keep you moving for 55+ minutes and includes fifteen tracks some of which you have already heard on the radio.

Today Calvin Harris is the highest paid DJ in the world. With his recognizable Scottish accent, Harris is the face of electronic dance music that is swamping the American music scene. He has made his way to the top by combining songwriting talent, marketing strategy and energy that is moving along with a $4.5 billion dance music industry. Calvin Harris is a huge act in Las Vegas and Miami and has had more than 150 performances to his name in 2013 alone.

Calvin Harris is one of the top paid artists in the world and his earnings are comparable to earning of Jay Z, Rihanna, and other biggest pop stars.

He earns most of his money from his life on the road. He charges more than $300,000 for one night’s work in Las Vegas.

Calvin Harris attracts crowds to clubs. He has a style that blends pop music elements and attracts bigger crowds than most other DJs.  Harris outranks his contemporaries in earnings by producing music for world-known artists such as Florence Welch, Rihanna and Elli Goulding. His album 18 Months sold over 25 million copies, and he continually produces top hits in the UK. He earned the Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year in 2013.

With Harris, EDM and DJing has gone beyond the world where a DJ plays someone else’s records. Hakkasan head, Neil Moffit gives Calvin Harris credit for being an international songwriter, music producer, record seller and collaborator.

Calvin Harris was invited to play at Don Facundo Bacardi’s legacy party celebrated on the world’s largest private island. Joyously called the Bacardi Triangle this private paradise is located on Palomino Island off the coast of Puerto Rico.

This event held during the Halloween weekend was a beach bash situated on a private island where Kendrick Lamar, Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris put on quite a show. To get Calvin Harris to this venue, Bacardi paid him $1,000,000 for a 60-minute set. For those 60-minutes, Calvin Harris threw down one of his hardest hitting sets. Harris played Eat Sleep Rave Repeat, Feel So Close, I Need your Love and Summer. His light show fed off the theme of the party.

The Bacardi Triangle was a pretty small party with only 1862 guests came. Nevertheless, everyone had a fantastic time and will probably remember this as their best Halloween 2014 weekend in the Bermuda Triangle.
