Skrillex, otherwise known by his birth name Sonny Moore, was born in California in 1988. He first stepped into the public spotlight in 2004, as the lead singer of the band First to Last. In 2007, he left the band to pursue a solo career. The young musician adopted the name Skrillex in 2009 and began sharing his music on social media to a great public response. He released his first solo album a year later. In 2011, he won MTV’s “Electronic Dance Music Artist of the Year” award. The same year, Skrillex founded his own record label called OWSLA. In 2012, he was nominated for five Grammy Awards, and won three.
