‘We Are Your Friends’, Movie About a DJ, Tanks at the Box Office

You may be surprised to see us writing about a movie, but we have a good reason for it. ‘We Are Your Friends’ is a movie about a DJ, and you do not see a lot of those nowadays. Sadly, the movie was not a success.

Zac Efron’s ‘We Are Your Friends’ Fails

You must have heard of ‘Straight Outta Compton’. It is the highest grossing music biopic made ever. On the other hand, its competitor, ‘We Are Your Friends’, failed miserably. ‘We Are Your Friends’ is a movie, actually a passion project as Zac Efron calls it, about an aspiring DJ. In its opening weekend it pulled only $1.8 million. With these numbers, ‘We Are Your Friends’ wins the fourth place of worst opening weekends in history. The movies that were as bad as this one are Oogieloves In The BIG Baloon Adventure (2012), Delgo (2010), Saw 10th Anniversary (2014).

Here is what Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros Executive Vice President for Domestic Distribution, had to say:

“This was a passion project for Zac Efron, and we believe in him. Yes, the result was disappointing, but this was a small film.”

Besides the awful Box Office results, the reviewers are not satisfied with the movie either. Sadly, on Rotten Tomatoes the movie is getting demolished because of a review aggregator of 43%.

But, you won’t be able to say anything until you watch the movie yourself. Check out the trailer!

P.S. I don’t think it was that bad. Maybe that is because of Zac Efron.
