Steve Angello in the New EDM Drama “The Drop”

The popularity of EDM has risen in the last decade. We had only EDM, then EDM movies started showing up and now, we finally have an EDM-inspired drama which is going to be called “The Drop.”

Steve Angello used to be a member of Swedish House Mafia, and a year ago he announced that he would focus on underground electronic music. Now, it seems that his career is going in a new, surprising direction.

According to the Deadline, the new “EDM” drama will be based in Miami. The executive music director of “The Drop” will be a famous EDM star Steve Angello, member of a former EDM group Swedish House Mafia. The executive producer will be R.J. Cutler from Nashville.

What is The Drop going to be about? Well, as always, this story starts with a boy and a girl. The show focuses on a DJ, who finds the silver lining in a “gifted protégé who is female and African-American, both rarities in the EDM world.”

Sadly, that is all we know for now.
